Some Legends Are Meant to Die?

:(

But look at the detail! The processing power required! One Snake mustache in MGS4 has the same number of polygons as a whole soldier in MGS3!

I WANT I WANT I WANT!

Oh well. Students are not meant to play too much. :(

PS. How can the GAYEST character in the entire MGS series return as such a cool ninja?! -_-"

21 (which is to say, half of the answer to life, the universe, and everything!)

So, I'm "as adult as (I) can be".

Legally speaking of course. But it's good.

Went to celebrate misskong's pre-birthday party (yeah, a bit ironic that it was on THIS particular day of all days). A green-themed party, nice food and good friends. Good thing it didn't rain on the important moments. =p

Rushed off to cell group's celebration after that. Sort of an end of year celebration thing. Had some more food (supermarket dinner really but still smashing good =p), enjoyed a nice chocolate-y cake (happy belated and pre-birthday to all the other november babies!), watched some interesting board game plays, played some cards and helped to remove a "splinter" which was really a strand of really short hair -_-". And yes, June is one "focused" person. The way she just ploughs on and on without heed to the screams of pain. =p

Rushed back to receive a Brunetti's cake and a tshirt from ggl. (Sorry was too late to make it before midnight ><) Which was nice considering presents are really rare (always exams or holidays). Thanks! =)

Ok, ciaoz. Going home soon! Yippee!

Edit: Thanks misskong for your present! Now I can count down the days more accurately and easily! =p

End of Pharmacy As We Know It?

Now THIS is the stuff that young boys with fertile imaginations and the health sector have in common!

ZAP! And you're free of that pesky virus..

Wonder if it will work by the time the workforce is hiring me.

[That's it! Rest time is OVER! RAWR!]

Possession

“What is it? My Dear?”

“Ah, how can we bear it?”

“Bear what?”

“This. For so short a time. How can we sleep this time away?”

“We can be quiet together and pretend—since it is only the beginning—that we have all the time in the world.”

“And everyday we shall have less. And then none.”

“Would you rather, therefore, have had nothing at all?”

“No. This is where I have always been coming to. Since my time began. And when I go away from here, this will be the mid-point, to which everything ran, before, and from which everything will run. But now, my love, we are here, we are now, and those other times are running elsewhere.”

Blow Wind Blow

The wind just blew the advertising board clean off a tram. The struts holding it in place went all over the place and possibly cut one bystander. The glass panel of a cafe was nearly shattered by the impact.

And the tram moved on, as always.

Welcome Is Sleep, Welcome Still the Time to Sleep

Hoooo! Just had a nice bout of insomnia.

And surprisingly I feel ok. Must be a sign to go church. =p

Where is the aircond when you need it?

First the weather goes haywire, now the cooling system? :S

This morning it was freezing indoors while hot outside [yeah, a fire even broke out on some street], now it's just hot outside and indoors.

Wait till tonight. It'll be freezing inside and out. Hahas..

Now here's a repetitive song for you all!

With this, you can have a phone and still eat it..after all, it's a father phone, mother phone, brother phone, sister phone, grandpa phone and gramophone! And to top it all off, it's a phone with a peel! =p

Interesting. My first spam comment. Should I approve or reject it? Or just leave it to rot in my inbox?

On another note, the empower ministry thing was nice, and unsettling in a way. Nice to see that most of them enjoyed the meal (yeah, there was this guy that kept going on and on about how the chicken wasn't "natural" like what his wife got for him long ago - she went direct to the slaughterhouse to get them - but he just kept asking for more chicken! =p), and unsettling to see a 14 year old girl and her boyfriend among the homeless. Also, the fact that I couldn't quite get common ground to chat about with some of them was quite bad. Interestingly, the "chicken" guy was sitting on my right, which contrasted his parrot-y personality with the very quiet guy on my left.

Oh well..

Time for bed. Been doing stuff related to this since I woke up in the morning til now. =p Good night world!

Kungfu fighting..

Poise! WONDERFUL!

Translation of Final Battle Report

Due to user demand, FBR has been finally translated.

"Red, swollen knuckles of both hands, with a slight tinge of pain.

Minor abrasions on knuckles and right elbow, as well as left leg.

Sore back of upper arms.

Sore back.

Feeling wonderful.

Treat and enjoy, as well as take certain measures to protect skin."

=p

Basically a rundown of the after effects of boxing without gloves.

PS. If you're reading this yeowza, pain was mainly trunk muscle aches. Surprisingly. Although for that one night I did have this enormous hammerfist. =D

What does the future hold?

Geriatrics is depressing.

No wonder those in the health services and the elderly are at increased risk of depression. (Actually, the elderly will be at greater risk of dementia than depression in a few years time.)

Imagine, for the vast majority of people, the last few years of life (no matter when you die) will probably be wrought with a host of disabilities and impairments. And the only thing you can do for now is to delay the onset of the symptoms so that they are compressed within a shorter time frame.

Old folks without family support would probably end up in residential aged care centres, places that are like hostels. Imagine that! Living in a hostel for the rest of your twilight life! Curfew after a certain time, meals at fixed times at the canteen, no wandering out without supervision, no customisation of rooms, no more than 12 books in the room etc. There's a host lot more of restrictions believe me. Heck, even the old hall was better than this! At least you get lots of friends, plenty of jacking sessions (thanks CY for all the fun you provided =p), freedom to eat what you like whenever whereever you like (provided you're willing to go out and splurge a little..meaning if you're not YTH wahaha).

By the age of 80, $5000 is spent on average per elderly person per year. And that's just hospital costs alone! About a quarter of that amount is spent in addition for medication.

And there's this thing about frailty. A case of "reduced redundancy". Well, sounds good when you put it that way, but it just means your body is less equipped to upkeep itself properly. Anything from dehydration to a slight bout of flu would be enough to push you over the edge, to the point where you can't even move around on your own.

And yeah, although it might seem like a wonderful fantasy where a nurse helps to bathe you and feed you, I don't think it would seem all that fun when it has to be done everyday, for the rest of your life. No sirree..

And supposedly, there's some pros if you manage to transition from young and pimply to old and wrinkly. Please do tell me what they are if you do find out.

I'll be back! Said somebody..

I'm back!

Yup.

15 hours of sleep yesterday! YAY! Maybe I'm halfway back in terms of paying off my sleep debt. =p

Seagulls were blown off course at the port on sunday. By the big winds. And the silly things just tried again and again. Kinda like playing frisbee with susan and friends. =p

Anyway. Kidneys galore now. Anat yesterday, physiology today. Reminds me of an article I read. Some local food critic came up with a book about the 100 things you should eat before you die. And kidneys was one of them. The reason being the "taste of urea". Whatever. Haha..imagine, it' s like going to the toilet and having a taste of the liquid you pass out. Ok, gross.

So gross I'll sign off now. Haha..take care..especially you ducky! [Yeah, this one's for you]

Absence makes the heart grow fond

Blog.

Blog.

Dear, dear blog.

This could sound like a Dear John letter.

But it's not.

For one thing, this is a blog, and I havn't really given it a name yet. Maybe World enough, and time, if you're being particularly fussy about this. Then it'd be a Dear World enough, and time letter. Weird.

And, I don't really fancy Johns, if you get my drift.

So.

Dear blog,

Sorry for being away for so long. Assignment rushing and pbl rushing and lack of adrenaline rushing have been my new partners for now. No more of that blog rushing for now I'm afraid. I hope you understand. And if you're feeling lonely, and there's so many of my friends that drop by occasionally to bug you to find out if there's anything new, please pass them a message from me: "Hey guys, welcome! I'm not in at the moment, but at the beep please contact me here."

Take care.

xoxo

Or something like that. Never liked writing letters anyway. =p

Not that I'm doing that.

Exams!

PBL is cancelled!

Wow!

Check it out here! =)

PS.! Apostrophes have escaped! Help! !!!

If God is for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:28-31

Predestination.

What is a destination? It is the end point of a journey. Many times people have asked, does the means justify the ends? How about the other way around? Does the ends justify the means? But that's not really what I want to delve into right now.

What I want to ask is this: Is the ends the means?

And so, is the destination the journey?

Clearly that is not so.

Pre- is a suffix that just gives the meaning of "before". Like prehistoric, the era before recorded history. Like predate, the time before that particular date. Like predestination, knowing what happens in the end before it happens.

So, predestination is not fate. It is not a fixed timeline, where what we are bound to do has been dictated by God or anybody else.

Ie. God willing or not, what we do or do not is solely our responsibility. Our decision. Our action. (Or inaction). In essence, we have free will, and with that privilege entails responsibility for what we do or do not do with it.

So we are not bound by fate. Partial answer to my questions earlier on.

Shall wait till two weeks later. Hopefully Pastor Tim will finally move on and cover Romans 9.

PS. What a powerful idea right? "If God is for us, who can be against us?" Ultimately, victory lies with God, and so victory lies with those who are with God. Those who love God. Who fear God. Who are heirs of God. Cool!

PPS. "What if your father lived forever? What if he never grew old, never weakened, but instead grew stronger with every passing day? What would you do for him? What would be your obligations?
Assume your obligation as His rightful heir and accept your inheritance."

WOW! That's what our obligations are? Accept our inheritance? Sign me up. =)

Looking through the VJC homepage, particularly the teacher's day celebration.

And I catch myself wondering. Where's Mrs. Chan?

And then I remember.

SWOT!

Nope, that's not the sound the book makes when it connects with the fly you were trying to "show the path out of this abysmal world".

Wikipedia has this to say about swot.

Which isn't quite right.

Wiktionary on the other hand, has this to say about swot.

Not too bad, close to what SWOT vacation is. What's more, it's backed up by Merriam-Webster.

Or you could always believe what san says.

But who cares? Don't let the words get in the way. It's a holiday! Yay! =)

Easy as ABCD

Heard of F.E.A.R. ?

Should try P.A.N.I.C.S. It's hilarious! =p Just four short clips, and you'll seriously laugh your behind off. =)

Go here to download.

And why did that come up?

Because. It. Is. Hilarious.

And. Because. I. Am. Insomniac. Again.

When management of high blood pressure through lifestyle modifications (eg. diet, exercise, getting enough sleep), administration of the ABCDs should be considered.

ACE inhibitors/ACE receptor antagonists.
Beta blockers.
Calcium channel blockers.
Diuretics.

Ergo, if insomnia is not overcome by attempts to adhere to a strict timetable of waking and sleeping, should the next step be chemical in nature?

Free Will?

Romans 9:15-23

Can somebody please explain these verses to me?

God, as the creator of all things, certainly possesses the right to act as He wishes, including softening or hardening some of us, or raising some people up in a manner so that He can manifest His glory.

However, does this in fact show pre-destination? A sense that we are bound by what some have termed fate, which in these passages is illustrated by the fact that we are brought up in ways that God wills. If we are so bound by fate, it would mean an exclusion of the existence of free will. That no matter what we decide, whether by our volition, or to test God/circumstances/these verses, we are headed down a path that is fixed. In fact it could be argued that in that case you can't really blame sinners, because they were fated to sin. Like the Pharoah who had his heart hardened by God, does this mean that it's "not his (Pharoah's) fault"? After all, God did harden his heart.

And if God did raise some people up to sin, does that make Him a cruel God? How can this be reconciled with the fact that God is a just and good God? (Yup, I'm still holding on to the belief that God is good.) It IS definitely quite fearful if God is not a good God. Just take a look at Ergo Proxy. The PROXIES, believed by the people to be Gods, were not quite benevolent nor good. Ophelia PROXY slaughtered the whole city just because she wasn't accepted by its people; Senekisu PROXY was insane and let the survivors of her city be stuck in a meaningless war against androids before slaughtering them all; Proxy 1 who decimated most of the other cities by launching ICBMs just so he could take revenge on the original humans, that race which created the PROXIES. Yet that is not a true parallel, for after all PROXIES were not Gods, nor were the original humans Gods themselves. Steps could be taken, rational thought called upon to devise ways to escape from their fate (although the future was quite bleak). If God were to be cruel, there is NOTHING that we can do to escape or take revenge.

But anyway, can somebody just explain those verses? I'd just want to know how they can be reconciled to my beliefs that God is good, and that we have free will to forge our future.

On a completely random note, does anybody know of any jobs that I can take for just ONE week? Specifically the 2nd week of June, since I'm free and most other people are busy with their exams. If there is could you tell me ASAP? I need to apply for my working visa, since it'll be worthless until next winter and totally not worth the price if I can't get a job for this period. Thanks!

Ergo Proxy Bo Liao Stuff

The supposedly immortal Amrita cells of PROXIES are actually still considered biologically immortal. Although susceptible to FP rays, they still do not obey the Hayflick limit and can thus divide and survive forever through those clonal progenies. And, according to clues within the show, they have lived for far too long.

But if they do not obey the Hayflick limit, and are obviously differentiated cells, does that mean the PROXIES are lumps of sentient cancer tumors? =p

Round and round the mulberry bush..

Circles.

We humans have always been fascinated with it.

Consider the wheel.

Consider the Yin Yang sign.

Consider the circular movements and philosophy of many martial arts.

Consider the Carbon cycle.

Consider the Circle of Life.

All ideas connected with the circle is probably born out of a want or need to negate the effects of change. To show that although things change, they can and will finally go back to what and where they used to be. That not everything leads to an end. That there would be some sort of continuity. That will not be some sort of finality.

The wheel makes a revolution and the same point then comes into contact with the road again.

The Yin Yang speaks of how completeness is a circle.

The circular movements attempt to deflect and/or reduce the impact and still be able to return to a suitable position.

The carbon cycle shows how a single carbon atom can be traced in its path involving various forms and end up back as the initial form it was in.

The circle of life seeks to demonstrate how life and death and cyclical, the living live and then die, nourishing the living.

But in life there is no real circle of life is there? At least individually. A person is born. He eats. He sleeps. He grows. He meets his love of his life. They have many experiences together. They grow old together, rich in those memories and experiences. They die.

And there is no cycle in there.

After all, every story has its ending. Even the greatest love stories must come to an end, however dramatic, however lovely, however touching it is.

I just hope that the end signifies a new beginning for us. A beginning of our eternal place in heaven with God. Maybe then we would not want or need a circle anymore, for then there'd be no ending. =)

Home Made Pastries Anyone?

Exam time is here.

Rational people, although some might be doing so because of not enough time to do so before this, would be crazily mugging through the syllabus.

Mugging uses up a lot of energy.

Energy is replenished by adequate sleep.

And food.

Easter

If wearer is the person who wears something, and slipper is something you slip on,

then what is Easter?

The thing east of west?

But then it is many other things.

It is a time to remember that Christ rose up from the dead. And this certainly isn't any trivial thing. How many people have you ever known to revive..after being dead for 3 days?! This, together with Jesus' and other prophets' predictions, most certainly assure me of the existence of God. =)

It is also a great day, for it is one of the big events that lead (me) to (you). I thank God for that, and have never regretted.

Plus, it's also a reason to have a whole week of holidays here. =p

Happy Easter people!

[ ]

Love.

You love somebody for who he or she is.

Not for their traits or virtues. Those are bonuses.

Parents.

Siblings.

Lovers.

Children.

They are the same. It's like first aid in St. John - no matter what the circumstances, the procedure is the same..DRABCD.

So no matter who they are, the principle is the same.

Love one another as yourself. Love them for who they are.

And you complete me.

Saturday, March 24, 2007

Why?

Why?

The ever recurring question of humans.

Indeed, why?

Why me?

Why did this happen to me?

Why?

Why?

Why?

Why did you accept me?

Why am I so blessed?

I know not the answers to those questions.

But still, I am grateful.

Thank you. =)

S2

People say love is hard.

They say it causes so much hurt, so much pain.

That it curbs your freedom.

Why have a lover?

Why torture yourself and get into a long distance relationship?

Why limit yourself to one person only while there are so many others?

Hah!

Don't they see that those "hardships" are just pesky little annoyances that help to strengthen our bond?

Don't they ever realise the many joys that love entails?

Don't they know that "freedom" is meaningless if this existence is to be faced alone with no one to share it with?

A lover loves.

Distance makes the heart grow fonder.

Joys and memories shared with that one special person intensifies it all.

And most importantly, like the sun in the sky, the cycle of life and the sudden freak changes of weather in Melbourne,

loving you comes naturally

Is Hell Exothermic or Endothermic? A Partially Scientific Explanation

This is just a funny email I received from [mi-mo-sa] and is not meant to ridicule any religion. Read it with an open mind and enjoy a good laugh from all that rubbish that is written. =)

If someone actually asks you this question "Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs Heat)?" what would you answer? The question was actually given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one of the student was so "profound" that the porfessor shared it with colleagues, via the internet, which is if course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well. Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student. however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. (Ed: Assuming souls have mass. Which I think there isn't, but that's another metaphysical argument for another day.) I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave.
Therefore, no souls are leaving.
As for how many souls are entering hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of such religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number if souls in Hell to increase exponentially.
Now we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell. Because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives 2 possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the Temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "It will be a cold day in Hell before i sleep with you," and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number 2 must be true, and thus I am sure that hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is
not accepting any more souls and is therefore, exinct......leaving only heaven thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting"oh my God!"

THIS STUDENT RECEIVED THE ONLY "A"

TST..ouch!

From observations and numerous personal trials and tribulations ( lol! ) it has come to light that there are at least two kinds of nurses.

The gentle ones.

And the rough ones.

I wonder if the Mantoux test inflammed area actually underwent much more inflammation from all that skewering from the pen. Yes, like somebody once said in cantonese, "neh, ko ko chap ge yeh."

Anyway, thank God I'm TB free! No more jabs! Except maybe a jab or two coupled with a left hook and right uppercut, followed by a side kick......

Cloths of Heaven for an Angel

He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread carefully because you tread on my dreams.

Positive Feedback Part 3

You love me.

Making me love you more.

Which makes you love me more.

Which makes you ever more lovable.

Which goes on and on and on forever.

Wonderful! =)

Positive Feedback Part 2

This is something mentioned by Mr Nicolantonio from Unimelb. Roughly..with a few things added in..

So basically you go to a bar during the weekend.

And you drink.

Not water la, ethanol!

So what does ethanol do to you? It acts as a central nervous depressant.

So what does this mean? Well..

You lose your inhibitions, including social norms and moral values. Or your drinking partner loses hers. Whatever. Not important. (What? Not everybody is a sex fiend..hehe..)

You secrete less of ADH, the hormone that allows you to regain some lost water from the kidneys.

This makes your bladder fill up fast.

Real fast.

So fast that you keep going to the loo/toilet/johns.

So much so that you become dehydrated from all that water loss.

So you think of getting something cool to drink.

Which is, in a bar, more chilled alcohol.

Which further adds to this vicious cycle.

End of story...or is it? Let's consider other things to add to the complexity of this since we are all bo liao inquisitive people. =p

While you're chugging away happily at your alcohol, you feel bored.

So what do you do?

Grab something to eat.

Something handy.

Something small.

Something in big amounts.

Like popcorn.

Or salted peanuts. (Yeah, no such thing as popcorn in bars I think. What? You think got free show? Even cinema free shows also need to buy your own popcorn leh)

Which contain lots of salt. (Duh)

Which makes you more thirsty.

Which makes you order more alcohol.

Which..well you know.

Additionally, notice how people who go to bars/discos/clubs/pubs tend to gyrate and dance? And gyrating people tend to produce more heat and the body counteracts this by...yes, you're right..sweating!

Which dehydrates you more.

And you know what.

In addition, think about the ambience. Nope, not the colors or deco. The ambient temperature. =p

It's never cold yeah? Until it's time to leave. Which means you get your metabolism rate and sweating up to a nice and fast rate.

Meaning more dehydration.

And..yada yada yada

So, in conclusion, it's a positive feedback loop. Yes, like what you learn in biology. Or medicine. Or physics electronics.

And the only thing to stop that is basically either:
a) They turn down the heat and cool you down.
b) You get so drunk that you get "escorted" out by the bouncers.
c) You get even more drunk than that and you faint.
d) You get so unimaginably drunk that you faint and need to get your stomach pumped to prevent further damage to your liver and all other cells within you.

All of which would most likely get you hungover.

That is, if you've not yet given up the ghost, so to speak.

And if you have not, there's always another weekend all over again.

Positive Feedback Part 1

You treat me so good.

You were with me through thick and thin.

You really know where to start fixing my broken heart.

Your emotional tools can cure any fool (particularly this one).

I'm so sorry for putting you through so much.

Even though you say you are willing to, it breaks my heart for burdening you so.

Which could and most likely will lead to you fixing my broken heart.

And so the cycle continues...

Could someone enlighten me on what is:

But yeah, it just finished raining twice..

Shall upload some pictures of potluck if and when i get some pics from the people who actually had the chance to take pictures. Phone ran out of battery just as I finished cooking. Lolz..

Why we need God

Why?

Isn't the question supposed to be whether instead of why?

Well, no. I'm firmly believing, with faith, that it is why rather than whether. And all those rational atheists can come up with all their arguments that there is no God/no need for God but I choose not to believe that they are right. Simply because of faith. I know it's totally illogical from a "rational" person's viewpoint, but I also believe that we do not know nor comprehend all things (which only God does) so don't expect me to come up with an inpenetrable answer to that.

Anyway.

Why?

Because of all the blessings in our lives.
Because although we want to, we will never be able to always be there for the ones we love. Things just get in between. Distance. Death. You know the rest..
Because we can ask things in His name and they will come true if it's good for us. Things like taking care of our loved ones in our stead when we can't be there for them.
Because we are made so. Whether we admit it or not, or choose to.

Planetshakers

Heard of them? They're the group that produces albums of Christian songs that are famous worldwide, at least in less traditional churches.

Now I can proudly say..

Been there, done that, got me a free cd..

Haha..lol..it's not the "main" branch or anything, but planetshakers city church was quite energy-filled, what I'd expect of any of their branches. And it was their 3rd anniversary too. First-timers got a free album and some Tim Tams and Subway munchies.

How cool can that be?! And you get a lot of exercise..from the walking there parts, the praise and worship sessions, and the run/walk back parts. Well, you get the idea.

And yeah, the jeans salespeople have just got it sooooo wrong. My buy-a-one-size-larger-than-you-currently-are-because-you'd-probably-turn-fat jeans are starting to slide down. How come everytime I go out to study my weight drops? I should seriously consider patenting this method as a foolproof weight-loss, I mean weight management program. [Yeah, the more politically correct term? =p]

And my uni wireless is finally up and running. Hopefully the webcam will not let me down like this one did.

Wow, nice graphics, captivating story line!

City tour with IMSS

The fire service here is very very efficient. About 5 minutes tops after the false alarm rang this arrived at college square. But i guess it's too efficient at times. Firemen were like -_- when they arrived, since it's been at least the 3rd time a false alarm happened in half a year.

Ah, yes, a nice wedding by the lake at the botanic gardens. A nice plan. A nice place. [Much bigger than a certain red dot's botanical gardens though. =p ]

The wonderful watery entrance of NGV. Very nice place. Should go there soon. Saw my first picasso in person! Whoa..and a whole lot of other nice drawings and sculptures. Very interesting. Shall go again soon if I can.

Check out the sculptures at the entrance if you go there. They're sculptures of the human body, not life-like kinds, but a bit weird kinds. They have the head, torso, limbs and certain gender-defining appendages that are intentionally stretched long and pointy. A little boy was playing around with one of them. Maybe not a very good idea eh? =p

And a nice view of the Yarra river. Lovers can book a Venice-like gondola to cruise along the river. But I guess definitely not during summer days. Nights perhaps. Not days. It was a lot more scorching than the picture looks.

Come visit soon. Then I'll have an excuse to go back and visit some nice places. And enjoy the company. I hope. Hehe~

PS. Who has any idea how to get on the wireless? Maybe I should get the IT staff to checkout my laptop to see what's wrong since I've followed all the instructions and still failed to go online. :(

PPS. Who's joining which society? MOMU anybody? OCF? Apollo?

Yeah, here's the oz dogs i was telling you about. This is considered small by local standards i guess. Was bought at the supermarket. Big ones can be found at the market.

oz dogs

Some people have commented that ozzie dogs are kinda weird.

Well their definitely big for sure.

At least those you get at grills, not the woodsworth kind. (Woodsworth and safeways are one and the same, basically like a small supermarket like NTUC fairprice or..Jusco perhaps? No real malaysian equivalent i guess.)

Sorry don't have the dog picture with me right now. But you're welcome to look at some pictures of biscuits. =p

UniMelb

Ah, here I am at Melbourne finally. Using the university's free internet service! =) So kind of them. Alas, I can't install anything (including msn and skype) so no free webcamming as well :( Although that would be kind of weird if I did that..

Weather here's kind of unexpectedly warm. In fact, it's starting to feel more and more like home, except for the reduced amount of perspiration and the resulting reduction in atmospheric humidity. Makes it sound like some kind of weird connection between the amount of sweat I produce and the percentage humidity eh? =p

It's a nice place here overall. Lygon Street aka the Italian Street is REALLY Italian! Full of Italian shops, operated by Italians who speak Italian, patronised by Italians who order Italian food and drinks, and non-Italian blur strollers walking by who have no idea what the Italians are speaking about at all. The bank is nearby, so probably the blur will drop by and have a quick look see and probably set up an account there. Please, don't mug him..mug with him but don't mug him..After all he's just another regular broke bloke who needs to slog through school.

Anyways, after a whole day of sleep yesterday I should really be on my way getting to know the city. After all, I can't tell my girlfriend that sorry, I don't know where to bring you and what's nice to do when she comes over right? Lol..

Well guys, (and girls) still no internet at my place now, but I shall see what I can do about it. In the mean time, drop me an email and I shall try my best to reply you. And yes, that's where you can get my new temp mobile number from. Most likely I'll switch over to a postpaid cap plan during the middle of next month.

Til then, hola!

Auld lang syne

This could possibly be the last post I'll make back home in a long long while. Tomorrow and the day after would be really busy.

The birdies have left the nest. It was just too sudden. Thank God pa was there to record the maiden flight of the smaller bird. Which is surprising, since the smaller one was never really the one to be first in anything, be it getting the parents' attention, grabbing food or anything else. We always thought the greedy fella who had a tumble down the nest trying to fly would always be the first in succeeding. So, watch out for the quiet ones. There are real surprises lurking beneath that outward calm and demure look. =p Should have realised that since last Easter. Oh well~

Made my ma cry last night. But I guess it's part and parcel of it all. I'm still her child after all. And leaving is never easy, especially when you're going somewhere that is "still very close by". Perhaps it's just the feeling that it's so hard to visit, to have surprise trips or to just be there physically. I just hope she gets over it soon. And I hope the other girl in my life won't follow the example of this girl. Be strong and we'll all meet soon enough with God's grace.

Thank you so much for the surprise in advance. =p It means a lot!

To all other family members and friends, take care. For those I havn't met up one last time due to various circumstances, please forgive me. I'll still be contactable via msn, just ask around for the add if you don't have it. I really hope to cya guys within the year. For those people who have been such chums and keep meeting up with me, thank you so much! I really feel the love =)

Flight leaves Sunday night 9pm. Since I have to check in the counter by 7pm, I should be around the airport from 6pm onwards. Ah, you all know the procedure. Hehe..all so pro already. As usual no big gifts will be accepted, at least I won't be bringing it on the flight. Just bring yourselves and that would be more than enough. =p

Pray hard for me. I'll keep you all in my prayers and thoughts.

Miss you all.

Take care.

God bless.

Ja, ne..

-_-"

Does Jane look like Peter?

Forgot how they looked like in the books.

San insists they look alike. In real life. Or at least in pictures.

Any comments?

Gush!

Ah, my girlfriend is the best in the world!

Help, I'm turning mushy..but it's just such a good feeling knowing she's so sweet and thoughtful.

AAAAHHHH!

*faints*

Now everything begins..

Ah, 200.

A superb number since it's a hundred times better than 2.

Which is good since 2 and 2 is one of the best combinations! =)

So, this should be a post a hundred times more special than the usual drudgery I post. And a hundred times more random too perhaps? =p

Anyway, there was something that was constantly popping unbidden into my mind for some time now. After reading a book, there was a line that kinda stood out.

What if the very thing that brought us together drives us apart?

Yes, what if it drove us apart? Such a scary and really ironic thought. However, something happened that reminded me of one of the reasons she is so endearing. All along silly me had this idea that the Little Red Dot was the reason we got closer and served as a starting point for everything that followed. Hahas! What she said recently just suddenly refocused my scattered memories and showed me the truth. It was never the Red Dot that brought us together (although that could be a reason among reasons why we got so much closer). Really, it was Easter. Ie., the willingness and act of serving God. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I really feel that this would really be impossible to drive us apart. A single line from her pierces through the clouds of uncertainty to let the light in. What a stroke of genius! Thank God =)

Ok, random fans out there..a random fact: It's now mostly cloudy over in Melbourne.

Yup.

Back to the point now.

For so long, I've been wanting. Waiting. For God to speak to me, for a miracle. And so here it comes along. God's way of saying, "See, know that all things work for the good of those who love God." Yes, this is my physical proof of blessing. My endearing reminder that there's something more to look forward to.

A gentle, kind spirit.

Beauty from within [and without too, in case your wondering how she looks like. Stunning. Beautiful. Gorgeous. Und so weiter]

A faithful lover of Christ.

She's all these and so much more. Things you just can't put your finger on.

Random fact number 2: It's nearly 2 and I'm zombifying.

When the 2 come 2gether, everything just falls into place. =)

Random fact number 3: It's 2:22.

Let me thank the many people who made the best weekend of my life so far possible.
[With the exception of the first name, all others are NOT ranked according to importance. It's just another random list.]

Jane, without whom none of this would exist. Thank you for just being who you are, and for the braveness to help me break through the barriers, as well as the generosity and grace to forgive me for destroying all possibility for you to achieve your "little goal". Thanks dear =)

*start of random list*
~ the entire core wong family, for your support and willingness to keep mum about the whole thing.
~ the two elder wongs, for your tacit encouragement.
~ the two elder lims, for your approval.
~ the two younger lims, for being so teh and busybody.
~ amze, for your part in keeping the lady of honor within the confines of PGP.
~ peter the fictional friend, for your role in springing the plan and also for the unexpected part in preventing a potentially messy and embarrassing situation involving fainted ladies.
~ jason, for being so understanding and hospitable, as well as for the advice and support given.
~ God [of course!], for the support and leading, besides helping to prevent busybody cleaners from spoiling the surprise, and also generally for everything.
~ the cleaners, for not interrupting at the crucial moments.
~ NUS, for clearing the whole of Friday for a certain someone, as well as making all others slog it away on campus, thus being unable to disrupt my plans.
~ KTMB and/or Customs of both Malaysia and Singapore, for ensuring a smooth and most importantly, only-5-minute-delay-instead-of-the-usual-one-hour-delay trip.
~ grandpa, for your offers of help and assistance
~ triple H, for not insisting or making a fuss about not going yamca with you on Saturday.
~ snow sis, for your support, prayers and advice, as well as taking care of her.
~ the con saleswoman [Yeah, I'd still like to believe it was your birthday eve. In spite of it all.], for introducing us to our first couple perfume. Oh well, kudos to you for that. It's quite a good idea anyway =p
~ FCBC, for the multiple events-cum-meeting points, as well as providing the environment for constant reaffirmation and encouragement from God. [Yup, congrats to you, looks to me that every service is as big as a rally event over here. Thank God!]
~ xuan, for coming on Monday instead of Saturday.

*end of random list*

And, so...

My apologies for for being so slow. And for causing you so much suffering, not just now, but for a long time to come. So, as you've said, let's focus on our studies and serving God, two very important ingredients that lead us on the path to permanent reunion. In the mean time, I'll try my best to improve. No more bakas, no more crazy nauseating driving [lol, quite easy this is..no car to drive once I start], less klutzy-ness, more yummy recipes.

And may God bless you always, while looking after you together with Mr Donkey and Mr Lion in the place of a constantly absent boyfriend.

However..

If you get there before I do,
Don't give up on me,
I'll meet you when my chores are through,
I don't know how long I'll be,
But I'm not gonna let you down,
Darling wait and see.
And between now and then,
Till I see you again,
I'll be loving you,
Love,
Me

I'm sorry..

My condolences friend.

It was just so sudden.

I'll make it back soon enough. Just hang in there.

You've accepted me.
So I'm yours.
Forever and always.

Thank you. =)

Hope..

Looking forward to something nice to eat from you =)

Ko Lo Min

Or, instead of how my friend Kat spells it, Kuan Lou Min. =

More specifically, who knows what happened to the 老人面? Lou yan min. Don't know what you other people call it, but it's the one near Hotel Milo.

Went there tonight and some new fellow was there. Totally different food. Totally different chilli!

I want my 老人面! Boohoo..

Aunty Sharon, teach me how to make superb Kuan Lou Min? Pretty please?

doki-doki

L'arc~en~ciel means the rainbow in French.

So am I starting to be more well versed in the language of love? Or am I just another anime junkie? lol..
