Ergo Proxy Bo Liao Stuff

The supposedly immortal Amrita cells of PROXIES are actually still considered biologically immortal. Although susceptible to FP rays, they still do not obey the Hayflick limit and can thus divide and survive forever through those clonal progenies. And, according to clues within the show, they have lived for far too long.

But if they do not obey the Hayflick limit, and are obviously differentiated cells, does that mean the PROXIES are lumps of sentient cancer tumors? =p

Currently?

Just finished rereading book 2 of Stephen King's Dark Tower series. It's titled The Drawing of the Three. Excellent. [Not to be confused with the series The 3 who slashed, or the parody, The 3 who were slashed. Mangoku!]
Some books just get better when you reread them. Maybe it sheds light on things that you didn't notice before. Or offers a new perspective.
And this series definitely counts as one of those books.
What do you expect from the Magnum Opus of Stephen King, writer extraordinairre?
Another is the Bible.
What do you expect from the Magnum Opus of God, creator extraordinairre?
Hehe..
All the best to all who are having lab tests and CAs in NUS.
All the best to those having exams in Kelantan.
Hope you all can finish mugging in time.
Don't sleep too late nocturnal..hehe..

Rin'

Yea, Rin' rawks! Woohoo..
Splendid fusion of modern and traditional instruments..I hear drum sets, flutes, some obscure Japanese string instruments..the whole gamut..
Mmm..I like! Hehe..
Not to mention, their vocals are good! Especially since they can sing in English without the traditional accompanying Japanese flavor in it! Wow..
PS. They did the ED of Samurai7. Real nice, hauntingly played. Titled Fuhen. But that's not their only style. Some are uplifting tunes. Yea..Just get yourself a copy and judge it.

.

.
Yup, that's the title of the final episode of School Rumble Ni Gakki.
Does this mean that School Rumble finally is going to end?!

Suspense!!

Love multiangle now..No more of that all school love triangle. And what's better, it's a one-way multiangle.

Imouto-san likes Harima [or at least that's what the ghost girl implies]. So far no special response from Harima, or she would no longer be Imouto-san but garufurenda =p
Hime likes Harima [actually depends on her mood..it's more like a love-hate relationship..hehe]. Harima detests being near her since he perceives her as a source of his troubles.
Harima likes Tenma [who is too blur to realise, despite his all-too-obvious hints]
Tenma likes Karasuma [weird fella..]
Karasuma likes..not sure actually. He's usually the person in class who keeps to himself and dresses up funny. Like Akira. Examples include penguin suits, snowman suits, water imp suits etc. Definitely weird..

Definitely could use a dojibiron episode anytime now.

Seremban..

It usually takes a comment from an outsider to change your sense of viewing things that are familiar. Like pointing out how much Seremban has changed these few years. Man..one of these changes can be easily summed up with a scenario, which goes something like this:
Thiam and MMMC Hardgay are doing the night shift in the Seremban GH. Their seniors just finished telling them how easy the night shift was during the olden days. It was a sleepy small town after all. Then, suddenly, the A&E doors open with a bang, and 3 stretchers with mutilated and bloody victims are rolled in. All were involved in an accident that occured as an illegal midnight race between motorcycle gangs was underway.
Man, can you believe the amount of new, STRAIGHT and LONG roads that have emerged over these few years? Perfect areas for racing..City planners even thoughtfully included U-turns at the far ends of road stretches like the one linking Bidara to Ocean Centrepoint. Could get some wonderful drifting stunts there.
Anyway, the old gangs from 5 S are mainly scattered all over the world. Yeah, everybody is scattered over the world. I meant that there's really not many left here now. Why am I even brain-rotting over here? Alone~
Sigh, it's true. The days in secondary school are one of the best moments in one's life. Except the exam periods. Hehe..but even then there were memorable times. People slugging it out over books like it was Armageddon. Some still playing basketball halfway during exam period.
And the school changed a lot.
A lot.
Hehe..just showing a little of what School Rumble Ni Gakki OP says. We are the Sentimental Generation. Haha..I remember the incredulous look Jessica gave when I told her we went back to school. Lol..clearly it said "of all places?!"
Hahas..
Suddenly have this urge to re-watch Gungrave.
It's a series I stumbled upon in my quest to look for Groove Adventure Rave. But that's for another day.
Anyway, it's another of those animes about love and loss. Betrayal stinks to high heaven too. It's actually a mafia movie, where the main characters rise from being mere street rats to ultimately be the ruling lords within the powerful mafia organization known as Millenion. Halfway through, technology to raise the dead, the Necrolyze, is invented and things go downhill from there. But the nicest thing about this is, in the end, true friendship transcends death and extends it's hand beyond the grave [which, incidentally, is the name of a reanimated character] and cuts through tangles of deceit and betrayals to finally put an end to mindless strife and killings.
However, skip the game. It's rubbish compared to the anime. Hahas..Good thing I didn't buy it =p MMMC Hardgay was complaining about it being slow, cumbersome etc. All the hallmarks of a badly made game. Does the anime no justice.
The OST is not bad though. I had some good laughs while looking at the song list. Names like "Calculator cannot help you" and "Do your business"..man..quite lame, leh!
Hmm..Think that's for all. Shall be looking forward from now on. Like it's sung in the OP of Rave, "Susu-meh!"
That's "Forward!" for all you non-Japanese speaking people out there. =p
Ok, havn't posted pictures for some time now. Have a look at this!

Reminds me of a hot dog =p
It's a sausage dog, a female one at that. Hopefully Thiam doesn't kill me for that. Hahas..

Sense of loss

Ah, just finished an excellent series called Samurai7. It's a tragic tale about a village of farmers. These people are oppressed by the Nobuseri (bandits), groups of gigantic robots that were formerly human Samurai. These Nobuseri would demand that the villagers from all over the region pay protection fees in bundles of rice, or else risk their wrath and destructive force. For years the farmers have bowed down to the preposterous demands of these machines, until one day the Kanna village decide that enough is enough. They send a priestess and her sister together with a farmer to journey to the city in search of 4 Samurai to help them kill the Nobuseri and escape the yoke of slavery.

They end up meeting a legendary Samurai, Kanbei, who suggests that they find a total of 7 Samurai for their purposes. In the end all 7 are found, 7 who are willing to stake their lives on behalf of the villagers for the reward of a lifetime of rice.

This is quite a captivating series, which starts off quite light-heartedly and gradually turns into a tragic story. Based on the classic Seven Samurai with a twist, this show has quite some entertaining Samurai moves. I also like how Akira Kurosawa managed to combine both the old and the new, with katana-wielding Samurai going against mechanised gun-wielding Nobuseri.

Ah, wars are horrendous, and there really is no winner. Like what Kanbei said, this is just another losing war, just like every other battle he has been in. No matter the outcome of the battle, the victory rests on the bodies of the dead.

Highly recommended show, if you care to look past the fact that the manga artists tend to draw the characters in traditional classical Japanese drawing style at times. However, it's not for those who don't appreciate tragic shows. Hehe..the sense of loss and emptiness within the characters grow ever clearer towards the end of the series.

Anyway, enough of anime for now.

Time to send a certain pigpig off at the airport.
