Reminds me of this movie I once watched. Ok, a patient and open mind is required here. Some scenes which I will gloss over will be disturbing to some, and at the same time be read by some disturbing people. By reading from this point onward you promise to think clearly and neutrally, without giving rubbish comments. You've had your warning! Haha..

This is a movie called Platonic Sex. Hey, hey. Remember the warning! Ok, the title is kinda tintillating. But! Many, if not most, of the Chinese and Korean movie titles have interesting (actually, more of disparate) English translations. Anyway, this is a sob story (aren't most Korean films these days like this?). It revolves around this girl who is forced/tricked into being a porn star. Don't quite remember the details. However, after a few (popular) films, she meets this nice guy, who loves her for who she is, not for her sex appeal or whatever. Quite the gentleman. Who, incidentally, doesn't know about her shady job. Over time, she starts to feel guilty about her past and decides to stop being involved in such productions because she felt like it was a betrayal to the guy. Which, to me, is a good thing. Nevertheless, like most Koreans scripts, this ends with a tragedy, and a new lease of hope for the other person.

I guess why it's titled as Platonic Sex is because of the story line (duh!) and maybe because of the phrase platonic love. Or like N says, platonic friendship. Basically it means a relationship that does not involve sex. This kind of shows in the way the guy treats the girl in the movie. The platonic sex part would be her productions, I guess. Could be construed as the opposite of platonic love. She's having recorded sex that does not involve elements of a healthy friendship. Total opposite of platonic love.

Ah, rats..going into movie buff mode. Haha..Well, a better choice of movie would be A Moment to Remember. Also another movie from my Hall of Love and Loss. But without the over-18 issues that are raised in the other movie. Cathay is now screening it in Malaysia if you're interested.

Haha..didn't think that a comment would lead to such a long post! Ok, that's it now. Gotta get me some shut-eye. Having some mild headaches stretching from the right parietal to the right occipital.
