Evil Dead!
The ultimate experience in grueling terror!
Haha..that's what the director (Sam Raimi) writes at the end of each part of this trilogy. It's basically a 80s horror show, where people who go to a deserted mountain shack find a recording and play it. It basically is the logs of a scientist who found a book, or rather, the Book of the Dead. The scientist has just decoded the book and records the words that are written, inadvertantly opening the gateway for demons to this world where they can torture and possess humans. After possession the human's soul is theirs to keep, and the animated dead body will then try to attack other humans and take over them too until the whole world is possessed or the body is totally destroyed.
The 3rd part is, however, slightly different. The Book of the Dead mentions of a Hero from the Sky who, in the year circa 1300 AD, leads the world to victory against the dead. The 3rd and last part in this trilogy basically is the cronicles of this hero, who turns out to be quite the familiar fellow.
Unsurprisingly, this whole trilogy is quite old and is seriously cheesy, even by the 80s standard. Haha..nevertheless, the last part was shown on Astro some time ago and was quite hilarious. That hooked me and here I am with the whole trilogy. However, the first two parts really cannot make it lah. Instead of being frightened I was actually laughing my head off. Lol..or rather, LMHO.
Actually, it's not that bad. It's after all a B-movie. However, the director/writer is quite good, having produced the first installment at a tender age of 21!
Well, if you want a good laugh, I recommend the 3rd part. It's still the best of all 3 installments! On a sidenote, just sit back and relax. This is meant to be a comedy more than a horror show, unlike the first 2.
Hopefully Astro screens it again. =)
What sia, lame sia~
