Unknown endings..

Just remembered this from somewhere..boy meets girl, boy falls for girl but girl doesn't know. Boy and girl leaves for separate unis at vastly different places far apart from one another. Did/will they ever know the whole thing or will it just fade away as if it never happened before? Then again not sure if the Internet boom happened already when that happened..haha..
Sigh, another unknown ending.
