My friend remarked once that she doesn't like surprises(yup, that includes the nice ones too), and also that she doesn't like to change, especially her mindset once she's decided. Some may feel that this could be hardheaded, or others will say that unadaptable people will lose out in this world. Still others might say that this is good, that she is principled and sticks by her beliefs. Whatever it is, I think it could be a little of everything.
That got me around to thinking. The world is changing at an ever-increasing rate. So, if we don't follow suit we will be swallowed by the times. Even a secondary school student can tell you that. Trust me, it's a point well-regurgitated time and again in karangan until I'm loath to write it out. In Malay at least. Haha..it's still not too bad doing it in English since we didn't write such things for Composition=)
Anyway, I feel that whether willing or unwilling, consciously or subconsciously, we are constantly changing and adapting to circumstances. To new facts that arise. To conditions out of our reach to change. Even BS teachers can tell you that. Look up any of the M106 BS notes regarding learning and such.
And sometimes, change is a frightening thing. In others, it could be a nuisance. Or if it's just something small, perhaps it'll feel like an inconvenience. Or even, (rarely), it could be a joy! Yes, a joy. Changing for the better, or for THAT special someone etc. However, it usually doesn't stimulate our pleasure centre for the most part. Therefore, it could be that with an unchanging God, we feel a certain pull. The idea that God is the alpha and omega (meaning, A and Z, or, the first and the last), that He will never change is really something that is attractive. There won't be a day when suddenly God says "I'm tired of you, so let's pile up a whole load of evil that will befall you" or "Get lost, I'm no longer interested in the humans I created. Btw, you can forget about the peace love and blessings I used to give you." Nope, none of that crap. No backstabbing. No sudden departures. He who Was, and Is, and Is to Come. That's good. It shows that we can have a friend to fall back on, no matter where, when or why. He will never forsake us and will always be there for us, through our ups and downs. Ah, what a God we have! No risks, no uncertainty, no fear. Only true peace.
The world is not like that. A person can tell you time and again that something is confirmed. That there will no change in plans. "Don't worry," they say. Next thing you know everything you planned and depended on is gone. All those promises broken. Whose fault is it? I don't know. Maybe it's just that the circumstances have overwhelmed the greatest of our plans. But there is hope. Pray to God, trust in Him. He has, and will always provide for our needs. Thank God for God! =)
Please help me too. Pray that everything will go well, SOON..the more the merrier. And the Bible does after all ask us to pray in groups in Jesus' name. So we can't really go wrong there. My thanks to those who kept supporting me, physically and through prayers! God's peace be with you!
