Engineer Bob

Going through the third book of the Dark Tower series. It's called The Waste Lands, and is inspired by the T.S. Elliot poem, The Waste Land.

I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

In the book, the boy Jake goes insane [hey, not his fault..it's due to a timeline split paradox] and writes a wonderful poem that is symbolic and et cetera et cetera.

Blaine is a pain
and that is the truth.
Choo-choo, choo-choo
Choo-choo, choo-choo, choo-choo
And that is the truth.

And surprisingly, he got an A for that.
Anyway, in Jake's when and where, he gets hold of a children's book about Charlie the Choo-choo. A supposedly alive train that talks with its driver who's called Engineer Bob.

Ok, at least Engineer Bob was there as long as Charlie was in commision. Only stopped when the company "retired" the old locomotive.

The engineer in charge yesterday was no Engineer Bob. 3 times the train from Bandar Tasik Selatan was cancelled. And why?

Let me tell you why I wasted 45 minutes waiting for a train in the midst of a haze brought on by kind neighbours.

The engineer in charge was overseas.

Most probably on holiday.

Self-declared holiday?

Not sure.

And that is the truth.

Return me the 45 minutes of my life wasted. Or recompense me.

Compensation for a portion of life doesn't come cheap.
